Edited by Santikaro Bhikkhu
Original translation from the Thai by Dhammavicayo
"Heartwood of the Bodhi Tree introduces emptiness (voidness) in a clear and full way as an original teaching of the Buddha . . . it emphasizes the importance of emptiness in all Buddhist traditions and contributes to non-sectarian dialogue and understanding . . ." Larry Rosenberg, Director, Cambridge Insight Meditation Center
(1906–1993) is perhaps the most influential Buddhist teacher in the history of Thailand. In 1932 he founded Wat Suan Mokkhabalarama, one of the first forest monasteries in Thailand. During his lifetime he was given eight honorary doctorates by Thai universities. Since the 1960s his work has helped inspire a new generation of socially concerned individuals both in Thailand and around the world.
